I once had my haircut by a barber in Plano Texas, the shop open since the late Nineteen Hundreds. Well, this shoppe has it beat.
A few chains try to bring men back into the barber shop and God bless them. However, all that worked about the barber shop in days of yore can be found at Gentleman's Corner. Seriously, all the barbers are trimmed with fresh cuts, wearing ties. These are, in the words of the book, "Wealthy Barbers", practicing the tonsorial arts as men rooted in the community. And they shall as long as each man can stand. Most of the barbers are young, but my guy proudly announces his age as seventy-six. Most men sport handsome beards, again totally groomed. Dads and moms bring in their sons for a decent haircut at a fair price and chat with the barber. How can this be a more authentic barber shoppe? Maybe if four or so of the staff started singing barber shoppe quartet.
I travel for business about 6 months out of the year so I'm always a little apprehensive when looking for a barber shop in a city where I haven't had my hair cut before. This shop rates right at the top of my list of best places I've found - as good as anything I've seen in larger-market cities like LA, Chicago, San Francisco, NY or Atlanta. The crew is a mix of younger guys with beards & tats and old-school dudes who have been at it for decades. They are professional and super-courteous with a hip vibe and bonafide old school skills. At 10am on a Tuesday morning they were already busy with customers ranging from little kids to hipsters to old timers - all engaged in lively conversation - it was awesome! For the longest time you couldn't find a decent barbershop - it had become all about "styling salons". Happily the pendulum has started to swing back and this place epitomizes everything that is right about the "new" barbershop scene.
Just got a deluxe beard trim from Paulie and both my wife and I are very happy with it. Definitely going back for my next one. I would very much recommended everyone I know to go here.
Great place and awesome atmosphere! Wait can be a bit lengthy sometimes but it's usually worth it. I've not had great experiences with Mike, but Gary and Justin have both done awesome jobs the times i've went.
I have to say these guys are a great group of barbers first time I went was to take my sons for cuts so my hat goes off to mike he is a great barber. This will be the only place I will ever go to and take my boys there as well it is a very respectful place and there's never a long wait!!! I just wanted to add that I could not believe some of the reviews I have read on here only for the fact that I've seen from experience there every barber there has always been gentlemens and make you feel welcome and take pride in there work, much respect to all of them
